Sgt. Eddie, 3/2, has been on our list since 2009, but his wounds were sustained in 2005. Being shot twice in the head is an injury that creates its own timetable for recovery.
Eddie is constantly learning and re-learning, and his progress continues at a very slow pace. His Mom says he's not paralyzed; his brain just doesn't know how to tell his limbs to move yet.
We were fortunate to meet Eddie in person last year after he and another Marine completed the Marine Corps Marathon together. They plan on participating again this year, and we wish them the best! As you might imagine, this is a huge undertaking and there is much to be done, so encouragement and prayers are requested to make it all happen. Mom mentioned that Eddie is stronger this year and may even give Staff Sgt. Bryan a pace that challenges him.
Mom was recently out of town to visit a new granddaughter. She said it was the first time she's left Eddie's side in six years. And to add to his titles, Eddie will not only be Uncle Eddie, he'll also be Godfather Eddie. Congrats to all!
Eddie's mom and dad, Angie and Chris, appreciate your support. Angie said that the magnitude of compassion that radiates from each card they receive is touching, and each and every card is kept. The words you send let them know their family is not forgotten and it keeps them motivated.
Every once in a while they make sure to let us know how much you mean to them. We recently received a voicemail that will speak more to their thanks than anything we can say to you.
