Congrats to Gunnery Sgt. Marcus on his new baby boy! He was born in April, he weighed in at 10 lbs. 2 oz. and his name is Matthew. Mom and baby did just fine. Is Marcus a proud dad? You be the judge: we asked him for an update and got four photos of the baby and only one blurb on himself. We'll take that as good news!
Marcus lost one of his legs in 2007 to an IED blast but never lost his positive attitude. He was back over visiting the new guys at the hospital and giving encouragement within two months of his own injury.
He is still in recovery and is going to do the Marine Corps Marathon again this year using his hand cycle. When asked if he still wants to get cards and letters he said, "I really enjoy receiving the cards. It really motivates and encourages me to know that so many people care and know about the things we do."
So keep those cards coming! Write to Gunnery Sgt. Marcus at:
