Information and Updates for LCpl.  Peter Update: 7/15/2010 with 2nd LAR
Last Update: 7/15/2010             << Back to list

Operation PAL Participant Peter was injured in Iraq when the LAV in which he was riding was in an accident. He's being treated for TBI at a polytrauma facility. He and his family would like to receive cards of support.

Update May 24, 2009: Peter's Dad provided an update recently. He states that Peter continues having headaches 24/7, but they are improving a bit because he has started working out in the gym and swimming in the past couple of months. He doesn't run though, because the jarring of the road hurts his head too much. Last February, he had surgery on his shoulder to repair a torn ligament that occurred in the accident in Iraq. That seems to be healing just fine. The best news of all is that he is getting married in June to a wonderful girl he's known most of his life. They grew up in the same church, their wedding day is almost exactly one year since the accident in Iraq. The cards have been arriving just fine. Please continue to send Peter cards and letters. He and his family sincerely appreciate the support they have received from everyone.

Update: 7/15/2010 from Dad - Peter is still having the headaches 24/7 and he is awaiting details regarding decisions on his discharge. It's been a long, hard 2 years, constantly going to medical appts for all his injuries.
He was married last year and will be going to college once he is discharged.
His Dad says, "You don't need to continue the cards/letters. But it IS a wonderful service that you and all the people perform. You are tremendous - please pass it along. - John"
