Information and Updates for Sgt. Justin Update: 11/21/2009 with 2/7
Last Update: 11/21/2009             << Back to list

Operation PAL Participant Sgt. Justin was wounded in Afghanistan. We are told he had just applied to be a drill instructor when he was injured. Even though he is now a double amputee, he has not changed his plans.
OohRah to the Sgt. You are one tough Marine!

Update: November 9, 2008 Justin has now begun walking on his prosthetic legs. He was able to reunite with his group when they returned from Afghanistan! A few of the wounded warriors made the trip and waited through the delays, but according to our volunteer, it was well worth it. She said it was a wonderful reunion.

Update: 4/29/2009 I have a new photo of Sgt Justin and doesn't he look great? He was STANDING UP and WALKING when this was taken. (I think that's why his smile is so big.) He says he may soon be able to get treatment on an outpatient basis. That will be a new challenge but one he accepts gladly. He appreciates all the cards and letters that are being sent to him.

Update: 5/28/2009 By the way, I did not mention this before, but Justin IS still planning on becoming a Drill Instructor. He will be a great one, but as our volunteer says, he will have to work on his "mean face".

Update: 11/21/2009 Justin has progressed to the point where is now able to be on his own. He is soon out of the Corps but has already gotten a civilian job. He is excited to start his new life and wants to thank everyone for all the support he has received.
Justin, we wish you the best!
