Information and Updates for LCpl. Michael Update: 5/28/209 with 1/1 Bravo
Last Update: 5/18/2009             << Back to list

Operation PAL Participant LCpl. Michael was injured by an IED in early September. He has severe shrapnel wounds to his body and legs, and multiple fractures to one of his arms. Please send prayers and letters of support to help this family through his recovery.

Update Oct 2007 Michael is out of Intensive Care. His family appreciates all the prayers and get well wishes.

Update Dec 2007 After ups and downs with the grafts he needs, his newest graft looks good. He has to walk 150 FT before he can visit home. So far he is standing with help and had taken a couple of steps.

Update Feb 2008 - Michael surprised his siblings by arriving home on Christmas Day! He is also planning on attending his unit's homecoming very soon. He went from wheelchair to crutches to cane to steps in less than a month. When he goes back to the hospital for more work on his arm, he plans on walking in. Ooh Rah Michael!

Update March 2008 Michael was able to attend homecoming and Mom says it was a 'healing experience for all of us'. He is back in rehab and working hard to progress as far as he can.

Update May 14, 2009 We have an update from Michael's Dad today. Michael continues his therapy at the hospital. He may still need more surgeries but he has come such a long way the number and frequency of those is much less. He was able to visit home and felt good enough to toss a ball in the backyard with his younger brothers. Dad says that's what it's all about. This family is very appreciative of all the cards and letters - and especially to those who have sent good wishes regularly. The entire family has been comforted by the prayers and thoughts you have sent.

Update: 5/26/2009 from Dad. The family has seen how many people are on our list and want you to write to those more in need. They have really appreciated all the prayers and thank you for your help in Michael's recovery.
