LCpl. Steven was injured in a suicide bomber attack in mid April 2007. He was thrown into the air and landed on his back which resulted in collapsed lungs, fractured vertebra and clavicle.
Other Marines and a Corpsman were critically injured in this incident as well. Update
: May 2007 Steven had 30 days leave to recuperate at home. Update
: July 2007 He had more back surgery and continues to progress. Update
: October 2007 He is working light duty a couple hours a day and is back with friends.
January 2008 - Steven has progressed well and wants you to now focus your writing on those more seriously in need. His Mom expresses her thanks to all of you for providing love and support when they needed it most. Update
: March 2009 - Steven went to visit with the wife of our OperationPALâ„¢ HM2 Anthony while she was back in their hometown for a few days. These buddies stay close and do what they can for each other and for their families, and they never forget. OohRah Steven! Update
: December 21, 2009 Steven and all the buddies from the squad went to visit HM2 Anthony at the new hospital he's in. According to Anthony's wife it was a surprise and Anthony reacted to each of their voices. These are good guys that continue to support each other through their recoveries.
